Equity Residential Ltd

letting & management consultants since 1998

Who regulates us? The short, and slightly worrying, answer is: No one regulates Letting Agents! A Landlords register and new regulation for Letting Agents were to be introduced by the Labour administration. The new Government felt differently. Anyone can be a letting agent which is rather worrying. Some of us however, although not Statutory required to, do belong to self-regulating bodies approved by the Government.

We believe that our clients, whether tenant or landlord, have a right to expect a professional letting service and have access to redress when problems arise – which is why we are members of The National Approved Letting Scheme.

This scheme is an accreditation scheme for lettings and management agents offering peace of mind to landlords and tenants in knowing that they are dealing with a firm which agrees to meet defined standards of customer service, together with having in place the necessary insurances to protect clients' money plus a customer complaints procedure offering independent redress.
